Encore un cadeau de Noël 2014 que je ne vous ai pas montré, cette fois pour ma sœur. Ma frangine adore les chaussons et les chaussettes faits main, elle en a déjà une petite collection. Il y a une une paire, jamais montrée sur ce blog il me semble :

Et puis cette paire, beaucoup portée, a déclaré forfait, et moi entre-temps je suis tombée sous le charme de ce modèle-là et hop ! un cadeau de Noël pour ma frangine. 

Revoici donc Cadeautje, toujours aussi sympa à tricoter (merci Ysolda), toujours en Antique de Fonty (j'ai du stock) et gros succès à Noël, l'an dernier. [projet ravelry]

En vous parlant de chaussons et de chaussettes, j'ai encore des choses à vous dire sur le sujet, à vite pour la suite !

Here comes another Christmas gift I did not show on this blog, and even a very belated one as the first pair of slippers you see on the picture above were knit in 2012! Time really flies!

All the information on this first pair, knit for my dear sister, is just below the picture.

You might recognize the second picture which is just above the text. Yes, yet another pair of Cadeautje by Ysolda Teague (ravelry project), I think I cannot get tired of this pattern! These have been gifted to my sister last Christmas, and I might knit some more for the next Christmas, except if Ysolda creates an even better slipper pattern in the second opus of Knitworthy!

I have more to tell you about socks and slippers in the coming days, stay tuned :)

Qui dit naissance dans l'entourage dit layette tricotée, c'est devenu une évidence... même pour les collègues ! 

Voici donc un petit ensemble tricoté pour un pas trop petit Monsieur né en fin d'année dernière. 

Au menu, le Garter Ear Flap du Purl Bee (mon amour pour les modèles de cette boutique ne fait que croître, non seulement ils sont simples mais en plus ils sont gratuits, que demande le peuple ?!) et Moineau, petit pull tunique de Nadia (inutile de la présenter sur la bloguibulle francophone). Ce dernier modèle existe en français, cela va de soi ? 

Le fil ? Sportnyl de Fonty, une valeur sûre pour la layette.

Now that my friends and work colleagues are becoming parents, I feel like I have no other choice than to knit gifts, and this one is no exception. This was knit at the beginning of the year for the boy of one of my partner's colleagues. 

The hat is the Garter Ear Flap by Purl Bee. If you have not come across any pattern of this wonderful knitting shop, just hurry up to their website. They are gorgeous AND free!!!!

The sweater is Moineau by Nadia Crétin-Léchenne, a famous french-speaking designer but I guess you have seen some of her beautiful knits already if you are on ravelry. 

The yarn is Sportnyl (Fonty), a good match for baby knits.

Farandole de chaussons / Christmas Rainbow

Parfois on tricote un modèle et on se dit qu'on le déclinerait bien dans plein de couleurs différentes, juste pour le plaisir. C'est un peu ce que j'ai fait pour Noël, et ce n'est sans doute pas terminé... 

Quand Ysolda a sorti sa collection « Knitworthy » (littéralement « digne de recevoir des cadeaux tricotés ») afin de donner des idées de cadeaux de Noël aux tricoteuses qui tricotent pour les personnes qui prennent soin de leurs tricots, j'ai immédiatement craqué sur Cadeautje (« petit cadeau » en néerlandais), le modèle de chaussons, parce que cela fait longtemps que j'en cherche un sympa et que celui-ci me donnait le moyen d'utiliser mon stock d'Antique. L'Antique est un fil super, mais surtout pour le feutrage, et ce n'est pas comme si je feutrais des projets toutes les semaines. 

J'ai commencé par une paire pour moi, puis une paire pour ma mère, ma sœur (je ne la montre pas, elle ne lui a pas encore été offerte !), ma marraine, ma belle-mère... et j'en ai encore quelques-unes à tricoter.

When Ysolda's Knitworthy collection came out, I immediately had a crush on Cadeautje. To me, this would be the perfect Christmas gift: an easy and quick knit that could also help me use up my gigantic stash of Fonty Antique, a great yarn for felting but hey, I do not felt projects every week!

So far I have knitted one pair for me (the one you can see on both pictures), one for my Mum (green and blue), one for my godmother (red and orange), one for my stepmother (orange and red), one for my sister (not shown as she did not receive it, yet). 

And I think more are coming. Stay tuned :) 

Noël en rouge / Red Christmas

Un gilet, une grosse écharpe, une couverture des gants et un béret, une couverture, un châle (déjà tricoté)... il va y avoir du rouge sous le sapin cette année ! 

Saurez-vous deviner quel fil correspond à quel projet ?

Bon... maintenant que le rythme de la rentrée semble se calmer, je crois que le moment est venu de dépoussièrer ce blog ! :) J'ai plein de choses à vous montrer, et cela commence tout de suite avec un pull ! Ce pull a une longue histoire... quand j'ai repris le tricot il y a... 8 ans (!), ma mère m'a dit : « Tu ne voudrais pas me tricoter un pull à col en V tout simple un peu épais pour l'hiver ? Je n'arrive jamais à en trouver dans le commerce ! ». Elle a choisi le fil, les fils même puisque nous sommes parties sur un mélange de trois fils de BB merinos (Fonty), le modèle (Phildar à l'époque) et hop. Mais bon... finalement il était un peu grand ce pull, et Maman a fini par me le rendre, une fois de plus, en me disant : « Tu ne veux pas le refaire ? ». Zou. Changement de modèle, changement d'échantillon pour faire moins large, la version 2014 est un modèle d'Heidi Kirrmaier gratuit sur ravelry, simple et efficace. Si vous n'avez jamais tricoté un modèle sans couture du haut vers le bas ("top down"), vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés, ce modèle est vraiment très fiable. Cette fois ma mère en est très contente, et elle m'a déjà commandé un autre gilet pour Noël. Je vous montre bientôt ;) 

Pssst ! Si l'anglais vous effraie (et je n'ai pas vraiment le temps pour les traductions en ce moment), Hélène a fait un tuto en français pour les pulls raglan du haut vers le bas. Il est ici sur ravelry. Bon tricot !

Simple Summer Tweed top down V-neck, BB merinos (Fonty), 6 & 5 mm 

Well well well, now that the "going back to work and normal life frenzy" is slowly quieting down, it is high time I finally come back to my blog! This is my gift to my mother for Mother's Day. I had first knitted this sweater a long time ago but it was a bit too big so she asked if I could unravel it and knit another one. This is the second time I am doing this for her, but never mind :) So I chose another pattern, from Heidi Kirrmaier, and used the same yarns (three strands of Fonty BB merinos held together). The result is great, perfect fit and this knits really fast, and the pattern is easy. If you have never tried seamless top down, this is a great reference! This is not the only thing I knit for my Mum recently, I will be back to show more soon! In the meanwhile, happy knitting!

Poivre & sel / Salt'n Pepper

Malgré les températures très chaudes du mois de juin et de certaines semaines de juillet, tricoter de la laine n'est pas un problème. Porter un pull en laine par plus de 30 °C en extérieur en est un, en revanche, ce qui explique que j'ai tant tardé à vous montrer ces photos ! 

Voici donc Poivre et Sel, un très joli modèle que j'ai eu la joie et la chance de tester pour Élise ! Ce n'est pas la première fois que je tricote l'un de ses modèles mais cela a vraiment été un plaisir. Ce pull est vraiment très sympa à tricoter, en 5 cela monte à toute vitesse et j'ai appris plusieurs chouettes techniques dont je vais pouvoir me resservir très rapidement. Ce que j'ai vraiment beaucoup apprécié aussi c'est la clarté des explications : je suis du genre à oublier des étapes ou à faire des bêtises parce que j'ai mal lu, et là, pas moyen. Les explications d'Élise sont tellement claires qu'il est juste impossible de se tromper. En tout cas, moi je n'ai pas réussi !

Quant au fil, ce n'est pas la première fois que je tricote la Super Tweed de Fonty (trouvée chez Élodie, comme souvent) et j'aime vraiment beaucoup ce fil. Au final, j'ai donc un nouveau pull doudou pour l'hiver, et je suis ra-vie.

Knitting wool in summer with hot temperatures is not a problem for me, but getting to wear wool in order to take pictures of said knit IS, so this is why I am running late with the projects I have to show you! 

Here comes Poivre & Sel (which means "salt and pepper", in French - the link is in English don't worry!), a great pattern I had the pleasure to test knit for Élise.  This is not my first test knit for her and I hope it will not be the last, I really love how she designs and writes her patterns. The explanations are very clear and I get to learn new techniques each time, this is really a "win win" for me!

The yarn (Soft Tweed, by Fonty) has grown softer after washing and blocking so I am quite looking foward to winter, to cuddle in my new sweater! Now I do not care if "winter is coming" (as in "Game of Thrones" :p), I have a new sweater. And I might have more, when winter arrives. Wait & see!

Cadeaux de Noël oubliés / Christmas gifts I did not show

Le temps file à toute vitesse et j'ai pris un peu de retard sur les choses à vous montrer.... tentative de rattrapage en bloc avec ce que j'ai offert à ma sœur et à son homme pour Noël. C'est parti !

Pour ma frangine, une paire de mitaines convertibles en Super Tweed Fonty (en promo chez Élodie en ce moment !), le modèle (Crofton Cuffs) est très sympa et au final on a des moufles-mitaines assez pratiques et bien chaudes.

Pour ma frangine aussi, un béret Éponine (Élise Dupont), en mélange 100 % Fonty (Guéret, BB Mérinos et Pole, toutes trouvées chez Élodie également). Je suis hyper fan de ce modèle, j'en ai déjà fait plusieurs et franchement c'est un régal pour un cadeau de dernière minute ou pour un petit plaisir pour soi !

Pour ma frangine encore, j'ai enfin réussi à utiliser un fil que j'ai déjà tricoté et détricoté plusieurs fois pour elle... et cette fois c'est la bonne ! Une écharpe toute simple qui se transforme en col grâce à deux boutons, et on joue sur l'épaisseur du fil pour éviter les boutonnières. L'idée est toute simple mais il fallait y penser ! C'est très bien vu, c'est le Hanna Cowl de Meg White, en Rowan Ribbon Twist.

Enfin, last but not least, pour ma sœur et son amoureux un autre modèle d'Élise, Elle et lui en Pacha (Fonty). Encore un modèle très sympa et très bien pensé, bravo Élise !

Here comes a little mosaic showing the gifts I finally managed to send my sister and her boyfriend for a very belated Christmas!

First come the red mittens, Crofton Cuffs by Grace Verhagen, in Soft Tweed (Fonty). Love the combo yarn/pattern, these are ideal for cycling in winter and very warm, my sister loves them!

Then there is a hat, Éponine by Élise Dupont. I knit this one with a three différent yarns to get the heathered effect (Guéret, BB mérinos and Pole, by Fonty) and it turned out quite well. And the pattern is really great, the ideal pattern for instant gratification knits or very last-minute gifts (I have knit two of them already and have needed 3 hours for each of them).

Then comes a scarf/cowl, Hanna Cowl by Meg White, in Rowan Ribbon Twist. This is an idea I will definitely reuse: if you knit a scarf with a bulky enough yarn and a lace stitch, you do not need buttonholes which allows a very versatile garment. And very warm :)

Last but not least, a gift for both my sister and her boyfriend, and another pattern by Élise: Elle et lui (which means "she and him" in French), in Pacha (Fonty). This is a great gift for lovers and they both love how it turned out so I am very happy.

Premier épisode ici.

Le deuxième opus est un top en bambou, tricoté ce printemps. Un fil qui coule sous les doigts, souple mais pas trop, brillant, doux, hyper agréable à porter et des teintes à tomber. Mais alors à prendre en photo... quelle galère !

En vrai c'est un bleu-vert qui tire sur le turquoise. Le modèle est très sympa, mon seul regret est qu'on voit un peu trop la mise en forme au niveau de la taille, mais après lavage ça va mieux.

Well, this is a bamboo top I knitted this spring. I love the pattern, I love the yarn (sooooooooooooo smooth!), I love the result and the touch of bamboo yarn on the skin is really nice with the heat wave we have in France at the moment but boy... this color is impossible to show on a picture!

Tout a commencé en janvier. Annette m'a demandé si je voulais tester un modèle, j'ai dit oui, j'ai tricoté. Un joli bonnet torsadé très confortable, chouette modèle, rien à redire. Sauf que. Sauf que je n'ai jamais réussi à rendre la couleur sur mes photos. C'est le même fil que ce gilet, un beau violet, rien de très compliqué, mais non. Cela ne rend pas. La preuve.

It all started back in January when Annette asked me to test knit a pattern she was going to release through her shop. The pattern was a cabled hat, nothing complicated, lovely pattern, and I enjoyed both knitting it and wearing it because as I knitted it wih the yarn held double, it is very warm. But. My problem is I never managed to make any decent picture of this hat, that is why I had never shown it before. 

I thought this would never happen again and I made a mental note to myself not to knit purple again. But I had no of clue what the "knitting fate" still had in store for me.

Échange de bons procédés / Trading crafts

(English below) Cela remonte au début de l'année. J'avais vu sur le site d'Isabelle un contrebassiste, qui était selon elle un violoncelliste (question de position), nous avons bavardé par mail, elle a découvert que je tricotais. Nous avons donc fait un échange : un col en laine tricoté par moi contre deux contrebassistes. 

Aussitôt dit, aussitôt fait.

Gap-tastic de Jen Geigley (lien ravelry, traduction en français disponible ici), laine Pole de Fonty (laine et alpaga, doux et chaud, et ça monte à toute vitesse ! Et en plus elle est en promo chez Élodie !)

Ils ne sont pas trop beaux mes contrebassistes ? Je ferais bien un échange de ce type plus souvent, si vous êtes intéressé(e) n'hésitez pas ! 

This is something which dates back to the beginning of the year (my showing you my FOs is not very chronological, I have to admit). I had seen these double bass players on a blog, I sent an e-mail to the woman who made them and after a few messages, she discovered I was a knitter. So we decide to "trade crafts". She would make two double bass players for me if I knitted a cowl for her. I found this idea was great so I just chose a few yarn balls in my stash, a pattern corresponding to what she wanted and in a few days I had made a cowl.

The pattern is Gap-tastic bt Jen Geigley and the yarn Pole by Fonty. This alpaca and wood blend is soft and chunky, it is the ideal yarn for cowl! Needless to say we are both very happy of this exchange! I would definitely be interested in doing something like that again, so if you are too, do not hesitate to leave a comment or send a message!

Un truc que je ne vous avais pas montré / Something late...

Terminée en début d'année, une cape pour l'anniversaire de ma cousine qui voulait ressembler à un personnage de Baldur's Gate.Tout ça pour dire qu'en fait elle voulait une cape tombe à peu près comme cela : 

 

Je suis donc partie d'un modèle d'Ysolda (dans Little Red in the City) et je l'ai adapté : pas de poches, pas de manches. Facile. Tricoté en Aubusson (Fonty) pour être léger et chaud, voici le résultat ! Sympa non ? 

 This is something I finished a few months ago already. My cousin wanted a "Baldur's gate capelet" for her birthday so I used Ysolda's Melia pattern as a base. In my version there are no sleeves and no pocket so it is really a simplified version, but the pattern is a great one. The yarn is Aubusson (Fonty) and is very warm, light and soft. My cousin loves her cape and wears it a lot, so I am very glad! What do you think? Would you wear it? ;)

Vendredi traduction avec du châle dedans / French Friday, cinnamon flavor

Il me reste quelques tricots à vous montrer, dont ce joli châle, offert à Noël à ma cousine. 

J'ai adoré tricoter ce châle, et je crois bien qu'après ma première expérience qui m'avait un peu laissée de marbre (alors que je voyais une véritable châlemania sur la bloguibulle), j'ai maintenant trouvé une raison de récidiver. Tricoter des châles, c'est vraiment chouette, en fait. Il suffit de trouver le bon modèle ! 

Il s'agit donc de Cinnamon Grace, modèle gratuit de Katie Harris, ici présenté en Aubusson (Fonty). Un fil rond, moelleux et chaud, un joli modèle et une belle couleur : ma cousine, qui passe du temps dehors à cause d'une bête à quatre pattes au hennissement strident, est ravie ! 

Et qui dit vendredi dit traduction, vous trouverez la version française ici ! Un grand merci à Katie Harris pour m'avoir autorisée à le traduire ! Ce modèle est idéal si vous n'avez jamais tricoté de châle, n'hésitez pas ! Bon week-end et bon tricot ! 

My first attempt at knitting a shawl was not a success and at that time I just could not understand why everybody on blogs and ravelry was so crazy about shawls. Now, after knitting this one, I can finally understand and I can say I will knit more shawls this year! 

This pattern is really great, it is Cinnamon Grace by Katie Harris (knit in Aubusson) and this was a Christmas gift for my cousin. She spends quite a lot of time outside because she has a poney, so she needed something warm and soft to keep her protected from the wind and the cold. I think this one will perfectly fulfill this mission! 

And as this is such a wonderful pattern, I translated it into French so the French-speaking knitters can give it a go also. I hope they will love it as much as I did. Thank you Katie for allowing me to translate this pattern!

Vendredi traduction, avec du bleu dedans / French Friday in blue!

Romane a eu deux ans en novembre dernier et je ne lui avais toujours rien tricoté. Impardonnable ! Fort heureusement, cette erreur a été réparée en 2012 et elle a enfin reçu son cadeau la semaine dernière. 

Et c'est quoi ce cadeau ?

Helena, joli modèle paru sur Knitty il y a quelques années, que j'avais envie de tricoter depuis que je l'ai vu chez Nadia ! Comme quoi, il me faut du temps mais quand je m'y mets, je ne fais pas semblant :) 

J'ai beaucoup aimé tricoter ce modèle, qui se prête bien aux variations, je vais me le garder au chaud comme base pour des improvisations, je pense !

Le fil ? Guéret de Fonty, trouvé chez Élodie (qui déstocke, profitez-en !)

C'est un fil très rond, très agréable, et ce bleu lumineux met extrêmement bien en valeur les yeux de la demoiselle qui, m'a-t-on dit, est ravie. Mission accomplie !

Et comme c'est vendredi et que cela faisait longtemps, je vous offre la traduction. Un clic ici et hop ! N'hésitez pas, ce modèle est vraiment chouette ! Et un grand merci à Alison pour m'avoir autorisée à le traduire !

This is a cute cardigan I knit for Romane, one of my friends' baby. Well, actually she is two, now, so I was a bit late but still. Better late than never! 

This great pattern is Helena by Alison Green Will. I love it, I think it is a great pattern in itself but also very suitable for adaptation/improvisation with another lace pattern for instance, I am going to keep this one! 

The yarn is Guéret (Fonty), and I am really fond of it. It has a soft touch, can be machine-washed and is still 100% merino. Great for baby gifts :)

I also translated this pattern into French, and I think French-speaking knitters will be very happy with it, so I want to thank Alison for allowing me to do this translation!

Noël 2012 fait-main / Hand-made Christmas gifts

Bon. Il va quand même falloir vous montrer ce que j'ai commis pour Noël. Commençons la série par le plus gros "morceau". Il s'agit d'un fil que vous avez déjà vu puisqu'il n'est autre que ce gilet détricoté et retricoté. Pour la petite histoire, ce fil a déjà été détricoté et retricoté deux ou trois fois, et il tient le choc donc on peut dire que Fonty c'est du solide ! ;) J'espère que cette fois ma mère  ne me demandera pas de le détricoter !

Il s'agit du modèle River Crossing de Cecily Glowik McDonald (dans son livre "Landing" publié cet automne). Un très joli modèle en top down, facile et sympa. Je n'ai pas mis de bouton pour que ma mère puisse le porter ouvert ou avec une broche. 

Le fil ? BB merinos (Fonty), tricoté en double. 

Bon les photos ne rendent pas du tout justice au modèle ni au résultat final, j'en ferai d'autres lors de mon prochain passage en Alsace !

This is the first of the Christmas gifts I made, and is my Mum's gift: the
River Crossing cardigan by Cecily Glowik McDonald (in "Landing"). This is a simple and quite easy cardi, and the yarn has already been unraveled twice as my mother could no seem to be satisfied with the various attempts we made with this yarn (see this previous post). I hope she will now be happy with it but she seems to be :)

The yarn is BB merinos (Fonty) (held double) and it is quite sturdy as it still is very nice after having "suffered" so much. I am afraid my pictures are no good at all but it is very difficult with the bad light these days. I will make better ones when I go back to my parents' home in April!

Tricot solidaire et olympique / Charity and olympic knitting!

L'une de mes grandes résolutions pour l'année 2012 était de tricoter solidaire. Après avoir participé au projet de Larcenette (qui remet ça cette année, plus d'infos ici !), j'ai décidé de participer au projet solidaire d'Ilse qui apporte son soutien à Bilqa, une association qui aide les fillettes à rester scolarisées. Une femme qui sait lire  et écrire, c'est un énorme pas de fait en faveur du développement, inutile d'avoir lu Emmanuel Todd pour comprendre cela. 

Sont donc partis chez Ilse ce mois-ci :

- un bonnet et un snood déjà présentés ici ;

- un col (modèle Cashmere neckwarmer sur ravelry) en Pole (Fonty) : 

 Pour celles et ceux qui se poseraient la question, cela se porte comme ceci : 

- une petite écharpe (Just in time neck cozy, sur le site de Purl bee ou sur ravelry) en Pole (Fonty) :

(Deux modèles très simples si vous voulez vous lancer dans le tricot en anglais. Sinon je peux demander l'autorisation pour les traduire, à vous de me dire !)

 (non, vous ne rêvez pas : un triangle avec un trou ça peut faire une écharpe) (et oui je me dévisse le cou pour cacher ma tête sur le net)

- encore un col, modèle qui a fait le tour de la bloguibulle il y a quelques années, le cowl "Wham bam thank you lamb" (un rectangle au point mousse, une couture, et hop !) en Chaleureuse (Chat botté), un fil mohair récupéré je-ne-sais-où et dont j'étais bien contente de me débarrasser d'une façon aussi utile !

- un bonnet déjà montré ici et que je ne mets plus (Pinstripe Slouch Hat, Veronik Avery dans le livre "Knitting 24/7") en BB merinos. 

Ces projets m'ont également permis d'obtenir quelques médailles aux Ravellenics. Simples, rapides, jolis, utiles... inutile de dire que j'étais assez fière de moi en fermant mon colis pour Ilse ! 

Je suis (déjà !) dans les cadeaux de Noël, la liste est assez longue cette année, du coup je ne sais pas si j'aurai encore le temps de faire quoi que ce soit côté "tricot solidaire" cette année, mais sait-on jamais... à suivre ! 

These projects were part of my projects in the "charity rowing" and "Synchronized Stash Busting" categories. I knitted them for a NGO called Bilqa, which helps girls to go to school in developing countries. Being a woman and having the chance to have been educated, I want to help girls anywhere in the world to learn to read and write if I can. This is, to my mind, as useful as sending food! 

So I sent: 

-  the items featured here and there;

- a Cashmere neckwarmer, except mine was in wool (Pole by Fonty);

- another cowl, Just in time neck cozy (ravelry) also in Pole;

- one last cowl, Wham bam thank you lamb in an old mohair yarn I had for quite a long time. 

My cat is very sad because it just loved to play with the cowls but I am happy because this has helped me destash in a very useful way. I think I might turn this into a habit. It helps me test patterns, being useful and at least, I know how my efforts and time are being used, which is not always the case when you send money. 

I am now already knitting my Christmas presents so I am not sure I will have time to knit for charities until next year, but this is definitely be something I will be doing again. What about you? Do you knit for charities?
