. Speaking of Jared Flood, I just discovered that his website has changed and now all the designers interviews and other interesting articles are featuring in the Notebook part. Have a look!

. Speaking of tools, I am always interested in knowing what the others use, and articles like this one are great. 

. Did you know that there are such things as knitting belts?! I did  not, thank you Ysolda. 

. Kate Davies' blog is another favourite reading of mine, and I love when she relates encounters such as this one with Hazel Tindall.

Et hop, la revue de presse du dimanche ! Avoue que cela t'avait manqué ! 

Au menu aujourd'hui : 

- Babayaga, la caravane qui tisse et tricote du lien social dans les Vosges ! 

- "Le Tricolore", un projet de pulls fabriqués en France avec des chutes de vieux pulls, une idée pas si folle née ici et devenue réalité grâce à Ulule. 

- Tout, tout, tout vous saurez tout (ou presque) sur la laine de yak ! 

- Si comme moi vous aimez les créations tricot un peu folles ou décalées qui courent la toile (et que je répertorie ici sur mon blog et ici sur pinterest), vous apprécierez cette page F*B*k (accessible sans compte F*B*k pour les allergiques aux réseaux sociaux !). 

Et qu'on ne vienne plus me dire que le yarnbombing n'est pas de l'art (cf. photo ci-dessous). Bon dimanche et bon tricot !

It has been a while since I last published a press review, so here we go for some cool articles and stuff! 

Wool People 7 is out. I cannot believe time has gone so fast, I still remember Jared launching his first collections, and now he has created his own yarn brand! Amazing success story. For the last issues of Wool People, he published very interesting interviews with great designers, here come just a few of them: Julie Hoover, Bristol Ivy, Grace Anna Farrow, Veronik Avery, Dianna Walla and, last but not least, Gudrun Johnston.

Speaking of Bristol Ivy, she writes a regular chronicle on her blog, it is called "the stockinette market" and tries to analyze each month what went on in the knitting world in terms of type of garments, stitches used, colors, etc. If you do not have time to follow what is being published, this is a great summary!

Kate Davies has written a "history of British socks". If you do not have time to read it, the post is worth seeing just for the images. And speaking of Kate Davies, she has started a collection of "Images of Knitting" well worth seeing too!

Well, I think this should keep me (and you!) busy for quite a few hours. Enjoy your reading and have a nice Sunday!

Bien. J'ai égaré la carte mémoire contenant toutes les photos des dernières réalisations et je ne sais pas où sont passées mes cartes mémoires de rechange, autant dire que montrer des photos sur le blog dans les semaines à venir va être problématique.

En attendant, voici quelques articles glanés sur la toile, en espérant qu'ils vous seront utiles !

Cette année je me suis remise à tricoter des chaussettes, pour mon plus grand bonheur. Si vous hésitez à vous lancer, voici quelques articles utiles :

En français : la méthode Véronique (tricofolk). Si vous n'avez jamais tricoté de chausettes, jetez un oeil et laissez-vous guider, cette méthode est très bien expliquée et j'ai tricoté plusieurs paires de chausettes avec, c'est pratiquement inratable (oups, cinq ans déjà, le temps file à toute vitesse !) !

En anglais, histoire de pratiquer un peu l'anglais tricot, je suis tombée il y a peu sur ce tutoriel plein d'images et extrêmement détaillé, chez Tin Can Knits.

Sinon, je me demande si je ne vais pas me mettre au filage depuis que j'ai lu cet article chez Flo et celui-ci sur In the loop.

Et enfin, le meilleur pour la fin. Nous en avions rêvé, elles l'ont fait, les farteuses sortent un calendrier ! Il compte 13 mois (oui parce qu'en 2014, il faudra compter aussi avec FARTEMBRE ! Yeah !) et donc 13 projets, et pour l'instant le projet est en voie de financement via Ulule, n'hésitez pas à jeter un coup d'oeil, c'est un projet qui mérite d'être soutenu ! (et bien évidemment j'ai déjà commandé le mien !).

It seems I lot my memory card containing all the photos of the knits I had yet to show you, and it also seems that I cannot find the replacement cards I have among the boxes. Memory cards are tiny, my boxes are huge, what a life.

Anyway, I will use this opportunity to post a few links I had been storing for quite a long time...

You may have noticed a sudden frenzy for sock knitting around this blog. If you have not yet tried it, have a look at this tutorial on Tin Can Knits, it is just great!

Éblouissement / Flabbergasted

Je ne suis pas une groupie. Ce n'est pas trop mon genre du pousser des "oh", des "ah" et des "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii" avec quinze points d'exclamation. Pas à l'écrit en tout cas (ceux qui me connaissent "dans la vraie vie" doivent bien rire en lisant ces mots).

Bref. Mais là. Jared Flood a réussi, en 63 pages, à me faire perdre ma contenance. C'est bien la première fois que TOUS les modèles présentés dans son dernier opus ("Wool 3" pour les intimes), tous, je dis bien, tous sans exception, me plaisent et me donnent envie de les tricoter presque immédiatement.

Bon, le problème c'est que je refuse, par principe et pour des raisons environnementales et éthiques, de faire venir son fil de l'autre bout du monde. Il va donc falloir trouver un équivalent français (voire européen, je veux bien faire une confession) à LOFT. Ou sortir la calculatrice pour recalculer les échantillons. Ça promet.

OMFG. I am not the type of knitter who can spend hours screaming of delight when a favorite designer publishes a new pattern but I have to say that Jared just took my breath away.

Wool 3 is an amazing collection of designs, and there is not-a-single-pattern I do not want to knit in it. Seldom enough to be noted.

Now my problem is (excepted my life-long-of-knitting-list whose official name is "my ravelry queue") that I do not want, for ethical and ecological reasons, to buy yarn from the US or from the other side of the planet, and this collection is designed for Jared's LOFT yarn. So I will have to find a French (or European, let's say) equivalent for that yarn. Or do all the maths for a different gauge.

Tricky. But not impossible!

J'aurais pu aussi mettre "rogntudju" (ou quelque chose d'approchant), l'expression favorite de Prunelle dans Gaston Lagaffe, mais je n'étais plus très sûre de l'orthographe (on a les références qu'on peut).

Pourquoi donc ce léger énervement matinal ? Ma foi, mon lecteur RSS chéri m'annonce ce matin que l'ami Jared a sorti une nouvelle collection. En soi, cela n'a rien d'étonnant. Le problème c'est qu'il y a de très très très très jolies choses. Le genre de choses sympa à tricoter pour les cadeaux de Noël. Et j'avais déjà fait ma liste, avec les fils et tout et tout.

D'où mon léger (oh si léger) agacement matinal. Que faire ? Tout changer pour tenir compte de cet "élément perturbateur" ? Ou détourner stoïquement le regard en sachant pertinemment que tous les blogs ne vont parler que de cela ou presque pendant les trois prochains mois et que donc "ouverture de lecteur RSS" rimera presque systématiquement avec "torture visuelle et tricotesque".

Le choix est cornélien. Humpf.

Well well well, one of the things French might have over English is all the onomatopea we have, which can express a wide variety of mixed feelings, I cannot think of anything similar in English. Can you?

Anyway, why am I already in such a state on a Thursday morning? It is all Jared's fault.

I just opened my RSS reader and discovered that a new Brooklyn Tweed collection is out. "This is great news", anyone shall say. Of course it is, problem is that the collection encompasses a whole range of classy accessories, the kind of wonderful things anyone would like to find under a Christmas tree. The kind of things I like to knit as Christmas presents. "Wonderful! Why are you complaining, then?" would anyone ask. Well. Well. My Christmas presents list was already done, with yarns and everything planned and settled.

Which means I am now facing a terrible dilemma: either change it ALL and integrate some of these wonderful patterns into it (but then comes the question of choice, yarns, etc. I can already imagine the numerous hours that will be necessary). Either do nothing and bravely try to stick to my present list, knowing that I will be reading lots and lots of blog posts, again and again on all my favourite blogs, on this collection, for the three months to come. And this might be some kind of torture, right?

Being a knitter can sometimes be a very very tricky experience.
