Indie gift along !

(English below) 

Cette semaine, grand retour de l'Indie gift along (« tricotons nos cadeaux avec les modèles de créateurs indépendants ») ! Le principe est simple : tout un groupe de créateurs et créatrices se sont réunis pour offrir des réductions de 25 % sur 20 de leurs modèles et organiser un KAL (« tricotons ensemble ») doté de prix somptueux. 

Tout est expliqué ici (règles du KAL) et il y a même des francophones (Lisa Chemery -Frogginette makes things, pour ne citer qu'elle).

Moi j'ai déjà repéré quelques jolis modèles pour mes cadeaux (voir ci-dessous). Et vous ?

It is that time of the year again, when I start knitting frantically in order to achieve tons of FOs by Christmas eve. Luckily, I will not have any inspiration problem this year as the Indie gift along is back! I already mentioned it last year and the rules have not changed: 25% discount on a bundle of designs by more than 200 independant designers and a KAL to see what you can achieve with what you just bought. I might be tempted by this beautiful pair of slippers (thank you Hunter Hammersen!).

Le pull de la rentrée / Summer sweater KAL

Il y a quelques mois (déjà !) je vous parlais de ma participation au KAL estival organisé tous les ans sur le blog Very Shannon, auquel je comptais bien participer, le dilemme du moment étant de réussir à choisir entre deux modèles. 

J'ai finalement opté pour le Nuage de Solenn sur un critère absolument nimportequoitesque au final : la place des écheveaux dans mon stock. J'ai le fil préconisé pour Sablier et il est stocké dans une toute petite boîte qui ne prend pas de place sur mon étagère à stock (dont il faudra que je vous reparle), alors que les écheveaux de Gilliatt, eux, prenaient de la place dans un carton (qui a été remplacé par une corbeille en osier entre-temps, preuve que le déstockage se passe plutôt bien !) (un reportage sur mon stock bientôt, c'est promis). 

Mon pull est donc tombé de mes aiguilles la semaine dernière, je l'avais laissé en standby pour cause d'autres projets plus urgents à finir, mais je l'ai terminé juste à temps pour la fin du KAL, fixée au 24 septembre. 

Et ça donne quoi, alors ? Eh bien ça donne un pull hyper seyant, un modèle très bien pensé qui monte tout seul, un fil gonflant et doux encore plus agréable à porter après le lavage, et un deuxième pull tricoté cet été, record battu ! Je suis fan. Ma mère m'en a déjà commandé un mais j'ai prévu de lui tricoter autre chose pour Noël donc elle attendra (et puis elle a déjà été bien gâtée cette année, photos et détails à venir). 

Mais je n'oublie pas le Sablier d'Élise et il se pourrait bien qu'il soit le prochain pull sur mes aiguilles, après le rush des cadeaux de Noël... encore un truc dont il va falloir que je vous parle vite. Ce blog semble parti pour être alimenté très régulièrement dans les prochains temps, stay tuned ("restez branchés !") comme disent nos amis anglophones !

A few months ago I stated I would take part in the Summer Sweater KAL hosted by Shannon every year, and so did I! Finally! It took me ages to choose between the two patterns I mentioned in this post but I finally chose Nuage on a totally unusual criterium: the place occupied by the skeins in my stash (if you were in my home office looking at my "stash cupboard" you would understand why this criterium is not as vain as it might look) (I shall post something on that in the coming weeks :D). 

Anyway, this was delightful to knit but I did not want to take it with me during the holidays to finish it so I finally completed it on the very last days before the end of the KAL. And I must say this is one of the best things I knitted so far: the pattern is great, the yarn is very soft on the skein and gets even more so after washing, I just LOVE it. 

I have already decided on quite a few KAL for fall and winter, I will talk about that later on. In the meanwhile, happy knitting! 

Cette fois j'en suis ! / This time I am in!

Le mois de juillet est épuisant, entre l'Alsace, Lyon, Genève et Montpellier, une lacération de la cornée, un anniversaire et quelques autres joyeusetés... j'en suis à être heureuse d'être d'astreinte pour le travail ce week-end afin de pouvoir enfin me poser ! 

Grande décision d'ailleurs aujourd'hui, cette année je participe au Summer Sweater KAL (Tricotons ensemble un pull cet été) de Shannon ! Tous les ans je me dis que je participerais bien mais les dates tombent toujours mal, et cette année c'est parfait : 31 juillet - 24 septembre, cela me laisse la possibilité de tricoter pendant mes 15 jours aux Canaries ou de le finir juste avant les vacances, bref c'est parfait. 

Reste le choix du modèle et là c'est cornélien :

July is hectic and I am very happy to see things settle down, even if I will not be on holidays before September. To help me wait I have decided, at least, to participate in the Summer Sweater KAL hosted by Shannon. The dates are perfect and now my only dilemma is the pattern choice: Sablier by Élise Dupont ou Nuage by Solenn Couix-Loarer (both of them are pictured above)? Both are available in English, did you knit them? Any idea, advice, comment? Will you knit for the KAL too? I cannot wait!!!!!

Un été d'aventures / Adventurous summer

(English below) 

Petite liste non exhaustive :

1. Je finis mes encours. Le premier, grâce à In the loop et le "Tricotons ensemble" qui a pris fin dimanche. Mon ouvrage a été posté sur le fil, mais il est fini et bien fini.

2. Je tricote "ensemble". Des chaussettes, un pull, des tawashi. On va dire que c'est le minimum vital ?

3. J'ai gagné un lot du KAL "Adventure KAL" de Leethal. Début cette semaine, il faut encore que je choisisse mon modèle. 

4. Pourquoi et surtout comment j'ai gagné ? En racontant l'une des mes grandes aventures de l'été : 200 kilomètres à vélo en trois jours en Alsace. C'est ce week-end et il devrait faire chaud, ayez une pensée pour moi !

5. Autre aventure dont vous entendrez sans doute reparler : j'achète un appartement. Et donc je déménage. Et cela, ça veut dire : trier et déstocker. Le minimalisme n'étant pas encore mon fort dans ce domaine-là (parce que dans d'autres domaines je sais être très minimaliste, sisi !), l'aventure s'annonce amusante.

6. Je crochète. Mais de cela, je reparlerai dans un autre billet.

Et vous, votre été sera-t-il aventureux ?

This summer will be full of small and great adventures? Heres comes a non exhaustive list.

1. I am getting rid of my WIPs. Thanks to the In the loop team, I just got rid of the oldest one, pictures and details will follow soon (but there is a sneak peek in the forum messages). 

2. I am knitting along. Isn't this kind of an adventure? Socks, sweater and tawashis. 

3. I won a set of patterns thanks to Leethal and her latest KAL, the "Adventure KAL". Have a look, this is going to be fun! 

4. How did I win? I will be cycling for three days with my aunt at the end of this week, and we plan to travel 200 km / 125 miles in three days. Wish me luck!

5. Another kind of adventure: I am buying a flat, which means I will be moving out. Which means I will have to sort out my stash, declutter, etc. I am not sure "fun" would be the best word to describe this, but I will try to make it a fun experience!

6. I can now crochet. Pictures and details coming soon!

Tricoter ensemble / KAL

Je vous le disais dans un billet précédent, l'année 2013 sera celle du "tricot ensemble"  !

Je viens de voir qu'In the loop lance une opération "finissons nos tricots boulets" sur ravelry. Il suffit de s'inscrire sur le groupe ravelry et de s'engager à finir un tricot boulet d'ici fin juin. 

Le mien est tout trouvé : un top en Porto Cervo commencé l'an dernier pendant les JO et pas touché depuis. Il paraît qu'un jour nous aurons un printemps et un été (j'attends de voir vu la météo des derniers jours) donc autant le terminer "au cas où" !

Pour plus d'infos, un coup d’œil ici sur le groupe ravelry dédié au projet. Et pour celles qui parlent anglais, d'autres idées dans la partie en anglais. Bon tricot ! 

2013 is going to be a KAL year for me, as I said in this previous post. Some of them are organized by French-speaking knitters, the others by English-speaking knitters or groups. 

In English, I have already joined the "Pour moi" KAL (love the name, it means "for myself" in French!) which will be running until beginninng of June. 

Then I might also join the Spring Tops Tanks & Tees KAL, which will up until end of June. 

And afterwards? We will see!!

2013, l'année de la chaussette #2 / A year of socks #2

(English below) 

2013 sera l'année de la chaussette, l'année du déstockage, et aussi l'année du knit along (KAL pour les intimes, "tricotons ensemble" pour les francophiles). Mon projet de déstockage est plus ou moins un KAL, mais j'ai déjà participé à un autre projet du même type et j'ai vraiment bien aimé le fait de tricoter le même modèle que d'autres personnes, de voir leurs avancées et de finalement poster mon projet que je peux maintenant retrouver grâce au tag approprié dans ravelry, c'est vraiment bien fait. Du coup vous risquez de voir d'autres participations sous peu ! 

En attendant, mon KAL de février-mars, c'était ça :

Le modèle s'appelle Business Casual (en anglais, gratuit sur ravelry) et c'est un modèle vraiment très simple, pour un chouette résultat final. Mon seul regret est que j'aurais dû prendre la taille en dessous parce que là le résultat est un peu épais, mais ce n'est pas très grave puisque je les utilise régulièrement chez moi comme chaussons !

Le fil est le reste de cette paire-là. Quant au KAL, il était organisé par Kelly.

This year is definitely a sock year, but also a KAL year as I might be enrolling in quite a few of them. Apart from my destashing project, which is also a kind of KAL, I took part in the one organized by Kelly in February and March, around the Business casual sock pattern (by Tanis Lavallée). The sock pattern is quite simple and basic, but the result is great, except I find mine a bit too large. Never mind, I use them at home to keep my feet warm, and they come more than useful with the cold spring we are having at the moment! 

The yarn is the remainder from this pair of socks (and I think I still have some left).
